Observing local wildlife is a matter of being in the right place at the right time, but your chances are definitely better in some spots:

Parc national du Mont-Tremblant

The best place to observe wildlife is undoubtedly Parc national du Mont-Tremblant. This vast protected territory is home to several animal species, including white-tailed deer, moose, Canadian beaver, the great blue heron and the eastern wolf. The park also offers discovery activities for those who want to learn more about local flora and fauna.

Domaine Saint-Bernard

Domaine Saint-Bernard is an ecotourism park that is home to a wide variety of animal species. It’s also a great place to bird watch, thanks to the creation of the Jardin des Oiseaux, a space specially designed to attract more than 60 species of birds.

Kanatha-Aki Nature Centre

The Kanatha-Aki Nature Centre offers a wide variety of wilderness activities that put you up close to the region’s wildlife. This area is also home to Quebec’s only wood bison reserve, the largest terrestrial mammal in North America.

It is strictly prohibited to feed any wildlife on all territory of Mont-Tremblant. It is also illegal to feed white-tailed deers, and punishable by fine, up to $1,000. Click here for more information.

However, it is possible to feed the tits at Domaine Saint-Bernard.

According to data collected by Météo Média (in French only), the first snowflakes usually fall between October 20 and 31, but it varies every year. This first snow generally melts. Winter settles in when we observe an accumulation of 5 cm, usually around November 20. This is when the Tremblant ski centre opens for the season. Mont Blanc usually opens in early December.
